Week 12

This week i have done my final task which is to review my blog and comment on how doing this has benefit me in my IT work. Which overall i think it has i have been able to set weekly targets and try and meet them to the best i can. By doing weekly target and improving step by step it means i am slowly but surly moving to my bigger long term goals. Also by reviewing my work i have been able to think sometimes i might go back and improve bits of work if it is not up to scratch.

This was my final task to do other than this week i have gone back and added more work onto my Personal development plan to see if i have met my targets i have set on that. I have now finished this section of work i think fairly well. However next time i am going to try and make sure i try and get all work submitted for the deadlines, so i don't get behind like i have done a bit with this module. Because once i got behind i found it harder and harder to catch up!

This unit for me was probably the hardest unit out of all of them, as i am not a good writer and most of the work were big long word documents, which i struggle with. However i feel i have done this unit fairly good, but for me i will find the other units easier as it is more interesting and is about more technical work.

Week 11

This week i have successfuly finshed my unfinished tasks form last week which i feel has gone well however i still need some feedback on it for further improvments, to make sure it is as good as it can be. So this i have taken the opertunity to finsh off any little bits and bobs and tiddy up my folders and organise them into finsihed folders. This week as i have not had much to do i have tryed to focus on my product design work so that next week i have a easier week and can review my blog.

I feel i have tryed to meet the targets i set last week to the best of my ability completing all my work and getting it organised. However i feel my qualtiy of writting is ok but as i have had to try and get things complete for deadlines and still feel my writting could be improved further with more time and effort.

Week 10

This week i have started doing my D2 and M2 which is justifying and reviewing the aids of communication. Which was a fairly long task which again i didn't find to beneficial to me. This task again has also stretch on into next week as i have had to finish tasks from other weeks but yet also try and make a start on this new task. but also on top of this i have had a lot of media work to do as i also have to record my work on blogger for that and i have had to catch up with work to meet the deadline for that week. However i feel i am managing my work load fairly well though as all my work for all my chosen a level subjects have quite intense course work loads. This task is also going to be stretch on into next week although next week i have a easier week so i should be able to catch up.

I have to targets this week which are to finish this piece of work however also to try and keep my standard of writing up as if i am rushing trying to get things done i don't want my standard of writing to drop.

Week 9

This week was a continuation of the P5 task so i finished off my social media chat by putting screen shots of the conversation into a word document and say why this was beneficial and what conclusion we have come to overall on if social media in the workplace is acceptable. As a group we came to the conclusion that for other words 'it depends' it all depended on the size of the company but also the type. I feel i clearly showed this to the examiner. Also this week i started my social media leaflet, trying to show when it is acceptable to use it and when not. Sadly though however i didn't get the chance again to finish this as i have had lots of other commitments and work form other subjects, so i have had a very busy week. However next week i will make sure it is complete!

Target: Just try and get as much work done as possible.

Week 8

This week was continuing on with p5 and doing a leaflet explaining to people whether i thought it was appropriate to use social media in the workplace. I did this on punlisher in a leaflet so as it is desgined to be easliy readable for the audicence. I found this task faily easy as you dont have to write a lot however what you do write has to be very good standard! I have also finsihed off my chat between 4 members of my ict group discussing via facebook if we thought social media in the workplace was appropriate and came to the conclusion that it all depends on the size but also the type of buissness it is. By finishing off this task it has also helped me complete my social media leaflet as i have had to explain on that in the most consise way what we have been didcussing.

Smart target: Try and get on top of my work load more as i keep getting behind in this subjects and others!

Week 7

Week 7- I have done a a email task (P5) Where i had to do Send emails, add contacts and set up mail folders etc. screen shot these and present this on power point and explain step by step what i had to do to set up these things. By doing this it has helped me improve my own mail box by setting up ict feedback folders which all my feedback from my ict work goes to and lots of other things. So this task has helped me organise myself much better. I also made a start on my social media chat, which is basically talking about the effects of social media in the workplace, and screen shoting the conversation into a word document. Doing this i felt didn't benefit me at all really and was a bit of a pointless exersise. However it does show the examiner i can use differnt forms of communication.

Sadly i didnt finish my social media conversaton with its screen shots and a conclusion in a document as i wanted. So this week my target is going to be to try and manage my work load more as i am letting work get on top of me from this subject and others like my media and product design, as they are all course work subjects.

Week 6

This week i have tryed to brush up on my excell skills as i havent used excell since i did a ict course which in year 9 and i couldn't remember a lot of it. So i looked at some tutorials on how to do different functions, then i did a leaflet showing step by step how to do each one which would benefit other people. However by doing this it has helped me learn it much better. As i have had to screenshot and explain each step. In detail. My publisher skills have also been developed by doing this task as i dont usually use publisher so this is widening my techniqual skills, which is a good way to advertising things for example leaflets and flyers. By doing my work on publisher it means you can display your work in a much nicer formate espesially if it is for a flyer to be posted through peoples doors.

Also this week i have had a crit meeting for my art which is a meeting with my art teacher and the head teacher presenting my work and showing what i have done and where i am planning on going with it. So i have been very busy doing that.

Next week i am going to try and improve on my work standard.
